Streaming Supper by Rebe Winn
New film!! New film!! New film!! New film!! New film!!
Filmed over the morning and evening of 5 days, Rebe Winn’s STREAMING SUPPER depicts the experience between one woman (breakthrough performance by Rebe Winn) and her daily eating routine through the eyes of her webcam. STREAMING SUPPER brings us inside Winn’s bedroom where her clothes, but not much else appear to change throughout. We intimately experience the lonely life as each day begins and ends with the same food, with limited attention being paid to it, but instead towards whatever is playing before her through whichever streaming service. A sense of routine and chaotic lifestyle is exaggerated through the increased pace in which it is shown. Snapshots of emotion can be caught at times but for the majority, the same emotionless face gazes into the screen.
It is impossible to watch Winn without personally reflecting and thinking about your own relationship between eating and streaming.
‘A gripping 5 day epic that isn’t quite like anything else in the history of cinema’ Andrew O’Hehir, Salon
